In the lead up to Christmas I looked at Pinterest for some inspiration for some new candle holders. I found some simple glass bottle with foliage around the neck, so I decided to have a go at recreating these.
I started to look for some glass bottles that I like the shape of and found in my cupboard Belvoir Cordial bottles. So once I had finished drinking these (such hard work as they are so delicious) I rinsed the sticky off. I was going to soak off the labels but my sister pointed out that the labels actually matched my new wallpaper in the dining room and the labels had a vintage feel to them so I left them on the bottles.
Next I had to decide what foliage to use after a walk around the local area trying to find holly with berries on I ended up back in my parents garden where I saw Catkins hanging on a tree and thought these would be perfect.
Now it wouldint be Christmas with out glitter so I dabbed a little PVA glue on the catkins and sprinkled some of the glitter I had left from the Baulbles just enough to give a little sparkle.
Once these were dry I used some brown twine wrapped around the neck of the bottle to attach the Catkins.
Such a simple quick craft project but they really added a little Christmas to the room, I think I will remove the Catkins after Christmas and keep them all year round as an accessory in the room and then next Christmas just add something different.
